      "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers." - Galatians 6:9-10      
             
     
Our ministry efforts are centered in five areas - Worship, Discipleship, Fellowship, Congregational, and Evangelism. These areas are discussed in more detail below.

We encourage you to review these offerings and see what areas you would like to serve. If you feel God is calling you to use your spiritual gifts in any of these areas, please contact the church office for more information.
     
             
             
     
Worship Praise and Thanksgiving
     
             
     
  • Music & Worship - Develop and maintain music in worship and musicians as worship leaders.

  • Baptism - Ensure the readiness of the baptismal area and assist the candidates for the ordinance of baptism.

  • Flowers - Oversee the provision of floral offerings and decorations for worship services and special events.

  • Audio - Provide, operate and maintain audio-visual systems for all church events.

  • Children's Church - Provide child-friendly worship activities for children during Sunday morning worship services. "Please click here for more information on children's church programs."

  • Ushers - Check that worship area is properly prepared and welcome members and visitors to services, offering worship bulletins and providing needed assistance.
     
             
     
Discipleship - Christian Education
     
             
     
  • Bible Study Ministries Council - Function as a vision-casting, planning and problem-solving team for all age groups to facilitate all Bible study groups on Sunday morning, during the week and for special emphases.

  • Disciple Class - Provide classes or small groups to facilitate growth as disciples, for training current and potential church workers and to support families. Provide classes of general interest or for target groups.

  • Bible Studies/ Prayer Groups- Encourage bible study and prayer groups who meet during the week in homes, restaurants, businesses or the church.

  • Library - Provide and maintain the church library.

  • Greeters - Welcome people to Sunday School as if they were guests in your own home. Learn about them, escort them to classes and introduce them to others.
     
             
     
Fellowship - Christian Activities
     
             
     
  • Senior Adult Council - Plan monthly activities for senior adults.

  • Youth - Plan or facilitate with the Minister of Youth for activities for middle school and high school. Serve as a support group for the Minister of Youth.

  • Youth Music - Facilitate music groups for teenagers with the Guidance of the Minister of Worship/Music.

  • Children - Plan or facilitate activities for children, including Children's Church, Vacation Bible School, SuperFaith Kids (Boys and Girls Club). "Please click here for more information on children's church programs."

  • Children's Music - Facilitate music groups for children with the guidance of the Minister if Worship/Music.

  • Food Service - Provide food service for all church functions and maintain kitchen equipment.

  • Exercise - Provide an exercise class for adults.
     
             
     
Congregation - Care of the Flock
     
             
     
  • Hospital Visits - Visit church members and other people associated with the church who are in the hospital.

  • Drivers for Appointments - Take members who cannot drive to appointments.

  • Bereavement - Be part of a rotating team of volunteers who will provide a meal for the bereaved family after a funeral.

  • Card Ministry - Write cards to members and others who need a caring word from the church.

  • Benevolence - Approve expenditures for people who ask the ministers or support staff for help.

  • Adult Away - Maintain regular correspondence with students, soldiers and other adults who are away.

  • Homebound - Visit assigned homebound persons regularly.

  • Weddings - Represent the church and church policies while assisting the bridal, guests and minister.

  • Flowers for Shut-Ins - Prepares floral arrangements and delivers to shut-ins.
     
     

 

     
     
Evangelism
     
             
     
  • Witness
    • Vacation Bible School - Plan, publicize and conduct VBS.
    • Mission Development - Initiate and/or support mission projects in the area, in the nation or around the world.
    • Outreach - Visit, call or send a card to our worship guests and prospective members when called by the Church Administrator.
    • Mission House - Maintain the Mission House as a refuge for retired or furloughing missionaries.

  • Missions
    • Hearts and Hands - Provide and deliver hot meals on Saturdays for local residents in need.
    • Morningstar - Support Morningstar by providing services as needed (including the annual Thanksgiving feast).
    • WMU - Women of the Word - Participate in a monthly gathering of working women in home to encourage and support one another.
    • WMU - Glenda Cox Mission Center - Participate in monthly meetings in members' homes to learn about and support missions and missionaries.
    • St. Marks Towers - Provide lunch and Bible study for residents once per month.
     
             
      The church also has a number of administrative committees. These committees include Personnel, Finance, Building, Grounds, Transportation, Nominating, By-Laws, Technology, Trustees and Administrative.
